The following article proposes a possible solution, based on investigative research beyond the evidence already known regarding the anonymous author. A meticulous analysis of style and content, in addition to a number of pieces of biographical evidence, suggests that the unknown author was most likely Israel Gottlieb Canz (1689-1753), a prominent theological follower of Wolff and professor of philosophy in T\u00fcbingen. \/ L\u2019une des \u00e9nigmes les plus persistantes et non encore r\u00e9solues \u00e0 ce jour dans le cadre des recherches sur l\u2019oeuvre philosophique d\u2019Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten r\u00e9side dans la question de l\u2019identit\u00e9 de l\u2019auteur anonyme du compte-rendu de la Metaphysica (1739) \u2013 l\u2019oeuvre majeure de Baumgarten \u2013 pour le compte de la fameuse revue Nova Acta Eruditorum de Leipzig. This raises the question of whether Hoffmann put his medical theory into practice. Hoffmann\u2019s case collection Medicina consultatoria (1721-1739) has been analysed in order to investigate this. The study shows that Hoffmann relied on traditional therapies. Based on his practical experience, he rejected certain therapies from his time period and, in some cases, recommended dietetic measures. \/ Selon la th\u00e9orie m\u00e9dicale de Friedrich Hoffmann (1660-1742), chaque patient d\u00e9veloppe sa propre maladie individuelle.
